Since 1992

WD Thomas Homes NGA is a custom home builder serving Gwinnett, Hall, Forsyth, Dawson and Lumpkin counties in North Georgia. Since 1992, we've built more than 500 homes, from lake homes on Lanier to farmhouses on open acreage. The company is owned and run by Wyndell and Vickie Thomas, together with the team behind every build.

Meet the Builder

Wyndell Thomas, Self-Taught Builder

Wyndell bought a lot in a subdivision in 1992 and taught himself to build, all while working the overnight shift as a supervisor at Weyerhaeuser.

He became part of the builder group created by the real estate company that represented the builders and sold their homes. Learning the business from the other builders in the group, along with what he'd picked up flipping houses in the 1980s, gave him the footing he needed.

Once he'd built up his credibility and knowledge, he quit his job and expanded the business with capital provided by lenders.

Today, working outside, creating something he can be proud of and giving people the home of their dreams are just a few of the reasons he keeps building.

Start Your Build

Work With the Owners

When you build with us, you work directly with the owners. Wyndell shares his cell number with clients, and our team keeps you informed throughout the build.

Straight Talk

We'll tell you what we think, even when it isn't what you hoped to hear. If something doesn't feel right early on, it's better to speak up then rather than halfway through a build.

Mutual Respect

Respect goes both ways, and it matters more than ever as technology replaces so much human contact. We value your time, and we ask you to value ours and our team's.

Open Communication

Staying on schedule takes constant updates, so we follow up daily and keep you posted on progress.

Pride in the Work

Working outside and creating something to be proud of is what keeps us building. Handing a family the home of their dreams never gets old.

Giving Back

We donated all proceeds from the sale of a new home to Christian City, and remodeled the girls' locker room at Lumpkin High School. Both were recognized by the organizations we built for.
